how does the maternity shoot work?
When is the best time for a maternity shoot?
The most beautiful maternity photos usually happen between 28 and 36 weeks of pregnancy. Your belly is nicely round by then, and you can often still stand and pose comfortably. Not sure about the right timing? Feel free to talk it over with me when booking.
Where does the maternity shoot take place?
The shoot takes place in my studio in Lelystad, or if you'd rather be outdoors, in the forest or on the beach. For outdoor shoots we take the most beautiful light into account, like just after sunrise or just before sunset. When booking, we'll decide together what suits you best.
What can I expect during the shoot?
We start slowly with a cup of coffee or tea and take the time to talk through your wishes. No rush, no pressure, this is your moment. Do you already have examples or styles in mind? Feel free to bring them. No idea yet? That's totally okay too, I'll guide you step by step. Want to include your partner or child in a few photos? That's of course possible too.
What can I wear during the shoot?
The studio has a collection of more than 300 maternity gowns, bodysuits, scarves and jewelry, specially designed to show off your belly in the most beautiful way. You can try on and combine everything as often as you like. Bringing your own clothes is of course fine too.
Can I add hair and make-up?
Absolutely! Want to be pampered even more? Hair and make-up are easy to add in advance, so you stand in front of the camera even more confident.
What do I receive after the shoot?
You receive the 10 photos you picked yourself, professionally edited and delivered in high resolution, in both color and black and white. To make your choice, you first get an online gallery with a selection of photos in web resolution. Prefer your images in an album? I can put that together for you too.
Can I order extra photos or prints afterwards?
Yes, you can. Besides the photos in your package you can also order extra files, or have them printed on canvas, wood or acrylic, for example. Everything is produced with care and in high quality.
How long are my photos kept?
Your photo files are kept for up to 6 weeks after the shoot. After that they're deleted and can no longer be reordered. So make your choices in time.
Can my photos be used on social media?
Sometimes I use photos from shoots for my portfolio, think my website, social media, printed materials or photo competitions. Prefer that your images aren't shared? Just let me know during the shoot.
